In this context it needs to be said, often it so happens that the animal lovers associated with Moitri pick up animals in distress and bring them here. Needless to say, we treat such cases or stray animals to the best of our ability but it is to be noted that Moitri is essentially a veterinary clinic and does not have any in-house facility to keep and treat animals or the necessary infrastructure to send doctors or personnel to check on patients. Thus, if it seems that any animal is in need of hospitalisation it is advisable to contact the NGO of the relevant ward of CMC.

Last but not the least, ADOPTION is one word we want to spread to all. There is still a section of the society that is eager to house a pet of a registered breed but an orphaned stray animal has very little hope of finding a home. Moitri would like to appeal to everybody to spare a moment & think about adopting an animal from the streets. Even if half of us respond to this call, Kolkata will have lesser animals on the streets & thus lesser accidents, pain & diseases. Think about it!
